Summer Circle Theatre 2019 Season
East Lansing, MI

Set in Brighton in the late 1960's, this update of a Commedia dell'arte piece is all about miscommunication, deception and stupidity. The goal was to create something bright and mod, an abstract world for it's larger than life inhabitants. I drew a lot of inspiration from the visuals and transitions of laugh-in. This set had more than a dozen doors, windows and swinging signs to help us transition between scenes, and all of the props and set dressing are pulled out of the wall. I really enjoyed figuring out the logistics of each mechanism, as well as navigating the challenges of outdoor theatre.
